Takhti 1 teaches the 29 single letters of the Arabic alphabet, from Alif to Ya, each pronounced from its own point of articulation (makhraj). The letters are read from right to left, and the student learns each letter by its name and its correct sound before moving on.
How to practise page 2
- Read each row from right to left, saying the full name of every letter: Alif, Ba, Ta, Tha.
- Repeat the throat letters (ء ه ع ح غ خ) slowly, because they are the ones most beginners mix up.
- Let the teacher check heavy letters (خ ص ض غ ط ق ظ), which are read with a full, thick sound.
